Corten Steel Helmet
A wearable helmet built from layered weathering steel — crest plumes and cheek plates drawn in rust.
The story
Built entirely from layered corten steel, this helmet lets the weathering finish do the color work while the form does the rest. The crest is made of individual plume plates welded along a spine, with layered cheek and neck plates below. Fully wearable — Reed has worn it in the shop — and proof that the same plate-stacking technique that builds the fish sculptures can build armor too.
